Ganderbal, Apr 21 (KNO): Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Sudhanshu Dhama, on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Baltal Base Camp to review preparations for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra 2026.
According to the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) during the visit, the SSP assessed the pace and quality of arrangements, including accommodation facilities, traffic management, security deployment, emergency response mechanisms, and inter-agency coordination.
He stressed the need for foolproof security, effective crowd management, and seamless facilitation for yatris.
The officer also inspected the Domail Yatra track, taking stock of on-ground arrangements and identifying areas requiring further strengthening. He directed officials to ensure timely completion of all necessary measures to avoid inconvenience to pilgrims.
Senior police officers and officials from allied departments accompanied the SSP and briefed him on the status of ongoing works. He emphasized maintaining close coordination among all stakeholders and adopting a proactive approach to tackle emerging challenges.
